Life after a heart attack.
Trevor is recovering well following his heart attack.
If
you follow us on Facebook you may have seen that two months ago while
teaching at a conference in Landenberg Pensylvannia in the USA, I, Trevor, had a heart attack. A trip
to ChristianaCare Hospital in Delaware by ambulance and then two procedures,
three stents, and a week in hospital followed. Before being discharged
the Cardiac surgeon who had performed the procedures told me I had
dodged a bullet. Apparently one of my cardiac arteries was 99% blocked.
He said "Someone was looking out for you!" I said I know who that was
and also because Facebook friends all over the world had been praying
for me. He replied, "I couldn't have done it without them. You will be
good to go now for many more years." A couple of hours later as I lay
in recovery I had a strong sense of being totally enfolded by the arms
of the Father. I knew without a doubt he had been with me throughout the
experience.
Throughout the week Linda was wonderfully cared for and taxied back and
forth to the hospital by Mark and Andrea Ham and Bob and Tam Mulrooney.
We were overwhelmed by their loving care and so thankful to both dear
couples. We sadly had to cancel all the ministry we had planned in the
US or rather we have postponed them until next year. So we are hoping
to be back in the autumn and pick up where we left off. Please pray for
renewed strength and as the Doc said, "many more years!"
We have been back home in the UK, resting and recovering very well and have climbed back in the saddle. The rest of the year included a mission trip to Poland with Mark Gyde to teach a week on
"Living as Sons" and a few other events in the Netherlands, Finland,
Sweden and the UK and in a few weeks we are flying south to visit all the family in New
Zealand and Australia and including a missions week in Cambodia with
Pastors like last year.
Thankfully it looks like our travel insurance will come up with the
goods in covering the medical bills in the US, which will be a great
blessing as they were huge. We are continuing to trust Father to provide
for the costs and income needed to enable us to bring this revelation
of his love to mission situations around the world. Please contact us
personally by email if you want to stand with us financially and we can
let you know how to do that or you can look at the page on this website. We are so appreciative of the prayers and love
expressed to us by so many at this time.
Inevitably a brush with our mortality does make us reflective and
thoughtful. There has been a lot of that but we both feel we have been
given a new start and a fresh passion to continue with what Father has
given us from above (John 3:27).
